The centre for Autism Research (CFAR) at King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre (KFSH&RC) was established through a
generous grant from SABIC in 2010, aiming to create a centre of excellence in autism research, specialized in translating
and adapting the latest evidence-based diagnostic and interventional methods. In addition, to carry out advanced research to
gain an accurate and more in-depth understanding of the causes of autism to discover new methods for early detection in
collaboration with various local, regional and international centres.
CFAR facility was originally donated by the late HRH Prince Faisal Bin Fahad Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud,
may God have mercy on his soul, as a center for Hemodialysis. Then, the facility was graciously reassigned by HRH Prince Nawaf Bin Faisal to be used for CFAR.
Our facility has been expertly designed for the care and comfort of children and their families. It consists of research clinics aside to social interaction rooms, that are all connected to a CCTV System, for local live streaming and recording, which is essential for the diagnostic process and research purposes.
Currently, after Sabic grant was consumed in 2018, Riyad Bank has undertaken sponsoring the Center for Autism Research, continuing the social responsibility towards individuals with ASD.
